Each Saloon has 4 twin-bedded cabins attached with facilities such as bath and shower with hot and cold water, attached toilets, channel music, intercom, interesting games for children and wall-to-wall carpeting. A satellite phone is on the way to enable you communicate anywhere in the world from the train. The lavish interiors decorated with comfortable furniture and beautiful paintings provide you royal treatments. These saloons derive their names from the erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan- Jaipur ,Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Alwar,Udaipur, Bundi, Kota, Jhalawar, Dungarpur, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Sirohi, and Kishangarh and each saloon is decorated in accordance with the culture and characteristics of the respective places.

Apart from 14 saloons, the Palace on Wheels has two restaurants cum kitchen cars- the Maharaja and the Maharani offering traditional Indian, Rajasthani, Continental and Chinese cuisine.
